US to UK then back again

I was wondering if there are any Americans who immigrated to the UK, stayed awhile
and then returned to the US due to either career choices and/or cost of living
differences.
I was there almost 2 years when I found a job in the US that was more suited to the
type of work (not-for-profit) I was interested in. Part of our decision to move to
the US was the cost of living difference (it is unbelievable, especially in London!).
At any rate, I loved it there and miss my 'mates.' It would be an understatement to
say that I miss my husband, he has an interview on 13 August and I hope that he will
be in the US permanently in early September!
So if there is anyone else who has gone through this and can shed some light on their
experiences (particularly about the interview and their circumstances), I'd love to
hear from them off-list.
Many thanks,
Ella (US/Virginia to UK/London and back to US/Virginia)
