Default In the US 50 yrs, want to go home now

Hi, I have lived in the US most of my life now, I am 61. My entire family is Brit, yet they thought it would be great to live here in the US. Why? Why? Why? I miss my home, near London so much. I lived there off and on until I was 10. Then just an occassional visit. My last husband never understood my strong British-ness. Now I am in the last years of my life, alone at 61, I just want to meet a fellow Brit, here in the Bay Area of San Francisco, who understands what it might mean to go home to England. I would give up everything to go home to 'mother'.

Is there a reason why you don't pack up and leave the US and return to "mother"? Why do you need a Brit guy and if you are using BE in hopes to find one, you're on the wrong site. 'tis not match.com ;-(

Lots of people get that urge to return to their roots as they get older. Can't really offer any advice but do understand how you feel and hopefully you will find some friends who can relate to how you are feeling ect.Good luck

I think most are right, I should go back first for an extended visit. My sister is single and alone too, she would be my best travel pal for a trip.

I think thats a great idea. I cant imagine how much things must have changed in 50 years, its probably an entirely different place now. Even after ten years away it seemed to have changed significantly for the worse in many places, and it was certainly expensive.... Nostalgia aint what it used to be Im afraid.

Supposedly it does but in this particular quote it doesn`t and I do hate to change originality.

By the way "McKenzie" is written with a large M.
