Default Update On Benefit Eligibility

As promised I phoned the benefits office today.
I was quite surprised to be told by the very nice scottish lassie on the phone that I am entitled to both incapacity benefit AND income support whilst I am sick!
She even filled out the forms with me on the phone and is sending them out for me to sign today.

I was expecting a bit of a hulabaloo and an arguement. I even had the web links Sue posted on here last week to argue my point, but she didnt even blink when i told her i had only been back here a few weeks.

If i encounter any more issues i will let you all know. At least this is a bit of good news for people wishing to return and worried about falling on hard times etc. It seems you ARE entitled to benfits if you need it.

Thanks to Sue and everyone else who replied and helped me and also those who sent me karma messages. I do appreciate it.

That is good news, basic JSA isn't contributions based but IB is, I thought you'd struggle with that one. Nice one

Now all the best for a conplete recovery and new job search Flea.

Thats really promising news Flea. I hope that from now on things will start looking up for you and that you go from strength to strength after your recent illness.
