Re: An update.....

Thanks very much.

I'm not sure what other food items there are other than groceries to be honest  We haven't found anything that is VERY expensive, petrol maybe but not much else. 10 years ago I would have said that almost everything was significantly more expensive here but those days are thankfully gone.

Good luck 955.

I've said all along that groceries are cheap - (although other food items are not so cheap) and that many other things are very expensive...you didn't have to go all that way..!

Glad you finally got back to the UK- even better that youm be in the west country.
Good luck house hunting.:fingerscrossed:

I am slightly envious that you will get the glorious countryside of a British spring, with bluebells, new leaves, hawthorn blossoms, and tulips/paeonies/hydrangeas etc....

I miss my UK garden and the countryside around it. ( In the garden yesterday picking up more blinking branches, twigs and leaves- 6 big bucketfuls, and filled the green bin to capacity.)

Great to hear you are where you want to be.

I'll concede I'm jealous of your proximity to English pubs and ale. ;)

Raining here

Congratulations Chris... I'm glad you escaped the termites. Enjoy a wonderful UK Spring (and Summer). Lucky you!!

Don't worry about the weather there... it's p***ing rain in Brisbane today... has been gloomy for days and there are days more gloom forecast.

Enjoy! :)

I've never flown Emirates. Did you go on their A380 from Singapore?

I've been on Qantas' A380 and I was a bit indifferent to the whole thing

We only had the 380 from Dubai but it was brilliant, the cabin crew are great and at 6'4" the legroom is amazing, my knees were nowhere near the seat in front and that is cattle class.

Thank you, yes loving it so far but now the hard work starts, looking for a couple of cars and most importantly a house. I love Frazzles, we have been bingeing a little on the foods we have missed.

Welcome Home to Chris and Family.....did you go on the night Safari in Singapore....we thought it was wonderful even with the heaviest rain I have every experienced...yes even more than Manchester lol...just try and take your time with everything...I found when I tried to arrange things as quickly as I could (to make a home etc esp for everyone) it got stressful and I did think then "what have we done" kind of thing. Good luck with everything...Take care

Nice aircraft. The most amazing thing is the cocktail bar at the rear.

I am surprised you flew Emirates via Singapore though Chris. What made you not pick Singapore?

(I like both airlines.....)
