Hey

http://vip.tv-video.net/index/index.html

Is a really good site for TV shows in general, you need to have firefox though for it to work. There are some British shows on there to..Fawlty towers, Doctor Who, Spooks, Torchwood, Primeval, Hustle, The Tudors, The I.T Crowd, Secret Diary of a call girl (!)...

Streams live in fantastic quality, I use it to keep up to date with all the US shows (seeming we are about a season behind on most things in the UK) but it could work the other way around to

I know bbc now has an iplayer...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/

This offer all bbc 1,2,3,4 etc shows that have been played in the last couple of weeks so you can catch up (Even the eastenders sunday omnibus is on there lol). Again it streams live but I don't know if the access is the same from the US. Worth a try though!

Well, I used to be a huge fan of www.thebox.bz but now I absolutely swear by www.tvcatchup.com - fantastic site. Basically an online freeview PVR....

Only if you can find a UK proxy site to host you.

Search on this site for "proxy" .... you point your browser at a server in the UK and it goes to the site you request (in this case the BBC) and then relays all back to you. Roughly.

Hiya,
Check out the UKNova thread here. My DH got on it thanks to the tip posted and now downloads and watches from that.

There's been a few threads...

UKNova is a good one, and then - http://myp2p.eu/ for sports stuff streamed.

I wouldn't bother going the proxy route, most won't have enough bandwidth to stream a decent radio feed, never mind a tele feed...

Bad news with tvcatchup. There is now this message at their web address 'This Website Has Been Terminated For Terms Of Service Violations'. I knew it was too good to last.

Not surprising...downloading UK TV programs outside the UK isn't exactly legal.

When will the BBC learn that they could sell online subscriptions?

I dont know why they just don't make the bbc iplayer available to everyone overseas, seems a bit silly.

I know its the tv license that funds the bbc but I for one wouldnt have a problem with all the expats watching

The BBC would have a problem with it. They should make them available either by subscription or PPV...there must be thousands of expats willing to pay to watch UK TV.
