Can anybody give any info on this foot and mouth outbreak in UK. I currently live in UK
and have my K1 visa , i have my flight booked in two weeks time but now im concerned that
because of this disease i wont be allowed in USA. Has anybody heard anything as to if it
affects immigration ? Thanks in advance.

Check the american embassy page, I read something about that the other day, I can't
remember the exact details their web site is http://www.usembassy.org.uk/ I think it was
on the main page. If I have tim I will check and see if I can find the details and post

The United Kingdom is experiencing an outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) (sometimes
known in the United States as Hoof and Mouth Disease), which is an acute, highly
contagious, degenerative viral disease of cloven-hoofed animals, such as cattle and pigs.
The disease is not normally fatal, but it can devastate livestock and other animals There
is no risk to humans, but people can spread the disease if they come into contact with
infected animals/areas as the virus can ride along on articles of clothing and footwear.
Tourism in the United Kingdom has been affected. In order to prevent further spread of the
disease, access to rural areas has been restricted. Roads in the vicinity of farms where
FMD has been detected are closed. Many footpaths, tourist sites (including Hampton Court
Home Park, Stonehenge and National Trust tenanted farms), parks and zoos have been closed.
To minimize inconvenience, travelers should consult their travel agent or tour operator
