Default UK checking acct from USA

I am a UK citizen that has been living in the US for 10 years.
I closed all my accounts in England but now we are moving back i need a checking account that i can transfer my house sale money to.
It will be in $ and i need it in GBP and in a UK checking account.

Anyone know a good way of doing this?

There is another thread running on this: Can I open a UK Bank account online?

The link in #5 of that thread is informative.
