TOR valid date ?

Hi
Getting my stuff together to submit a TOR for return to UK from USA.
I understand have to be in country within 6 months and last for 12 months after
but when does the 6 months start from submission date or date number granted

Thank you

Re: TOR valid date ?

Umm .. that's not how I understand the rules about dates. On the gov.uk website it says:
"Conditions for reliefTo claim relief, you must satisfy all of the following criteria:- you’ve been resident outside the UK for at least 12 consecutive months, prior to the date of moving to Great Britain or Northern Ireland- you’re importing the goods within 12 months of coming to live in the UK"So no mention of 6 months there

HOWEVER it does go on to say:"How long you need to have owned the goods...You must have had the goods in your possession for at least 6 months prior to the date of importation."

Maybe that's what you are thinking of?
