I think it has a great deal to do with age. At some point everyone reaches a point where they are suddenly struck with a sense of their own mortality, maybe you're just not there yet.
Regarding wanting to return home. For me, I want to be where I feel I truly belong. I want to be with people that have a shared history with me ... people that know what I'm talking about when I make a joke about a Blue Peter badge. I want to be able to talk to people about the state of the country without them becoming almost anal in their defensiveness.... I want to be with my own tribe

The spark has never been here for me either, this is not a slag off of Australia but I just can't hack it anymore living here, 28 more sleeps and I am done.

then there was the epiphany of a family member dying at a young age that shook me up and I thought life really and I mean REALLY is too short
