Time apart before applying for spousal visa
I am a UK national. I have been living overseas (outside of EU) for more than twenty years, and have been married for that same time too. I have recently bought a house off-plan in the UK. It will be completed this October/November and I intend to move to the UK to live in it. The intention is that my foreign spouse will join me next year, probably September (2019); we wish her to stay overseas to supervise our children who are attending college and to work to her retirement age in her home country.
My question is this: As my wife and I will be apart from each other for approximately nine months, will this affect our application for a spousal visa? That is, despite being married for over twenty years, will it appear suspicious that we are apart for this period of time? We have never been apart before. |
Re: Time apart before applying for spousal visa
Unlikely to cause a problem so long as you provide an explanation.

Re: Time apart before applying for spousal visa
I agree and I would suggest you keep good records of your communication with each other during the time you are apart, such as emails, WhatsApp, etc. |
