Rule Britania, Rule What??

Hell, you can't even make it to the Euro Cup, what a pack of losers.

$CDN now $1.97. NOT $2.50, and getting stronger, can 1 for 1 be far away???
Howy you have said enough. Now PISS OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you that political correctness has gone too far and I hope that there is a shift in the UK in the not too distant future, however you can't tell me there is no political correctness in Canada either !

As for "1 CDN = 1 GBP" - I can't see that happening, especially as Canada unfortunately has a strong history of Boom and Bust.

As for Football (Soccer) ... c'mon, you know our recent failings are a sign of our modesty, as we just want to give someone else a chance of the limelight for a change.....by the way will you be putting a bet on Canada qualifying for the 2010 Football (Soccer) World Cup ?

The exchange rate historically has fluctuated, I would say that no one, not even someone as wise and knowledgable as Howard1944 would be able to predict where it will be in 3 weeks let alone 1 year.

The UK is a 3rd rate power?

At least it doesn't depend on just one country for 80% of it's trade or depend on high commodity prices to make money. Remember if the price of Oil slipped below the level it was a few years back, goodbye Alberta Boom.

The UK has a higher income per capita than Canada, and doesn't just come from natural resources,it actually has to sell things abroad. Something it actually does quite well.

If being a 3rd rate power depended on sporting achievement, then Canada would be a 10th rate power, unless you are a curling fan

UK a third rate power? what a load of bollocks!

London is the financial capital of the World... has lots of power and influence and a sh*t load more than 'Bay Street'...'Bay what?' I hear you asking....

It's not really possible to have a reputation based on "the future" Howard. Reputations are generally built from things which have actually happened.

This rubbish barely makes sense. Come on Howard. We've got some poor deluded fool here thinking they might actually be happier in the UK. Make them see the error of these evil thoughts. Friends, family, job prospects etc...we know none of that matters when you've got a pair of snow-shoes, a fishing rod and a positive, "can do" attitude like you.

PMSL

You know, I reckon the owners of BE must hire a bloke to be each countries over enthusiastic brainwashed PR rep. Australia has Badge, Canada has Howard. Do you think they are the same person?

Oh, Howard. If your life in Canada is so lovely and cushty, why the hell do you keep coming onto the MBTTUK forum? Yes you are allowed, and of course you're not banned. But why? You do not help at all those people who are posting because they are full of confusion about a major life decision. You do not even post balanced alternative arguments, so that's not the reason.

It really must be that, secretly, you too wish you were somewhere else on occasion. Because if that's not the reason, then you clearly are posting what you do because you are a nasty piece of work, who just likes to wind people up.

Hi Dewdrop,

Thanks for your reply, I hope you and your family manage to get over as well! The way I see it is that you can replace cars and houses, but you can never replace the relationship you have with your family and that's why I think it's important to go back.

Int.

Feel like we seen and done all we can do here, but missing England and the extended family, cousins etc.for my children...something I missed growing up in Canada. There's more to life than just the bigger house, 2 cars iykwim!!

Hope you get there

Yup, got the citizenship. I'm not looking forward to the reverse culture shock!

But do some research into "reverse culture shock" as part of the process of deciding.

It was a 'spelling mistake' remember?

However, you must be a wise man as you're learning from someone else's mistake

I hear those pesky locals from the Maldives are refusing to learn Spanish, and have no idea how to shear a sheep!

Give him a break on this one JG. I sort of provoked him so it's probably my fault. Sorry about that. I just felt like rattling his cage. Besides, he's harmless enough, and worth a few laughs.
