Re: Thiefrow Airport T5
My OH has travelled through T5 at least 16 times this year so far and (touching lots, and lots of wood) none of his baggage has gone astray...well now I've probably b*ggered it up for his next trip

Re: Thiefrow Airport T5
Got the bag back eventually but lost bags two trips running means enough is enough coz you have to waste a day of the holiday waiting for the courier to bring the bag and trail round the 24 hour supermarkets buying clothes and shaving stuff etc (not allowed in hand luggage)
Friend's bags from Rome arrived in Milwaukee 24hrs late via T5 last month
The trip via Amsterdam on northwest/klm was a lot better so that's the fave
Yes I do tend to rely on luggage label plus barcode but I will put full contact details in a see through plastic folder inside the cases next time
On the way back they took my kitchen knife out and put it on top of the clothes but didnt touch the blue tack which has the consistency of plastic explosive - unlike the yankees, the brits dont put a slip of paper in saying they have had a root around.
I always pack a melamine plate and knife and fork so I can make cheshire cheese sandwiches with branston pickle !
It's a shame about BA because the flight crew worked really hard despite their working conditions being reduced. Whoever designed T5 in ALL it's aspects should be discumknockerated and booted all the way to Bootle

My sons do Leeds/Bradford to Amsterdam and then non stop to Portland with Delta (Northwest)/KLM as you say easy transfer at AMS and no messing with US immigration until you reach your destination. They started using that route a couple of years ago.
