Default TB CERT: EEA Family Permit: Philippines

Hi

Has anyone applied for an EEA family permit from the Philippines recently? A friend of mine will apply soon and she wants to confirm that a TB cert is NOT needed.

This site: https://www.gov.uk/government/public...cal-issues-med states: 'An applicant applying for an EEA family permit is not required to produce a certificate showing them free from active pulmonary TB as EEA family permits are valid for six months.'

I just want to make sure that the caseworkers and VFS visa application centre staff are fully aware of this.

I have tried to find an email for the Manila VFS centre but I can't find one at all!

They have already booked the visa appointment but they need to get this confirmed first!

Thanks all
CC

Not sure what you are expecting to do. You won’t be able to ring up the relevant ECO and tell them how to do their job. Your friend will just need to lodge their application in the normal fashion and await the decision.

She was hoping to find another, more up to date link that states that it's not necessary to have a TB cert. Or perhaps to get some firsthand experience of dealing with this issue.

If they don't know how to do their job and the corresponding rules, the details can be written about/pointed out in the application form. The whole point is to avoid the ECO making the wrong decision by providing the info/guidance from their own sites in advance.

If they don't know how to do their job then there's not much you can do. Any visa/permit for six months or less does not require a TB test. The ECO should know this. If they don't and refuse it then your friend can request an administrative review or reapply.
