Default Taking the plunge

Hi all, new to the forum and like many more on here we are taking the plunge and moving back to Blighty. We have lived just outside of Vancouver for thirty four years and we are ready to move back. We have been lucky that we were in a position to buy a small place in the UK a couple of years ago and have been spending blocks of time over there in different seasons to make sure it was what we really wanted. Now we are back in BC and the house is getting listed in a couple of weeks and the serious planning has begun. I will be going through the forum pages looking for tips and am sure I will be asking lots of questions

Good luck! One of your best decisions was buying a place here in the UK! We did the same many years ago even though we had no intention of returning at that time. Our son lived in it for years until he bought his own house and it provided us with a place to stay when we came on holiday. When our son left, it was rented and was then made available for our return last year. We could never have afforded to buy a flat in London in the present day! Hope all your plans go well.

Good luck. We moved back from Toronto in October after 34 years in Canada as well.

If you do not have a bank account in the UK my advice would be to open one while you are still in Canada.

We managed to open an account when we bought the house, we had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it though
