I remain completely baffled why you are so convinced that the ashes would be taken off you ?

Personally, I would put them in a suitcase (i.e. checked luggage) or in the hand-luggage (but you probably haven't got room in there).

If (big if), they show up on an x-ray as a powdery substance, i.e. they suspect you are smuggling drugs, you will be asked to unpack the suitcase. You can then explain that it's your pet's ashes. They may take a few granules into one of those instant test tubes to see it really isn't drugs. And then they'll wave you through. (There is no chance they regard ashes as an animal product.)

I totally agree with you and it is not that I am convince that they would take them off me, just I need to know they would not. I think the ashes are not actually a problem, I was just wanting to make sure I did things in the correct way to prevent any problems.
