Thats incorrect about the roof but it is the reason for the size of the boot on a black cab which is the size of a bale.

I'm not sure if it was repealed but it is/was illegal for more than 3 men to stand together in St Helens, Lancs. since the 1926 General Strike

Not illegal - impossible. The Palaces of Westminster are royal palaces, so 'commoners' such as you or I are not permitted to die there! If anyone does pass away in Parliament, their death certificate will show St James' hospital (just across the Thames from Parliament) as the place of death.

I did once hear that if someone dies in Westminster Hall (a particular part of the Palaces of Westminster), they're entitles to a funeral at Westminster Abbey. Not sure how much truth there is this though!
