Me too. In fact anything apart from constant sun reminds me of home...

Good for you! I'll be almost 9 months behind you, but I'll be there by this time next year.

I had to laugh when I saw you'd put 'tie a yellow ribbon' above your avatar - ever since I made the absolute decision to leave Oz, all that's been going through my head is the words 'I'm going home, I've done my time'! ......so appropriate!!

Only I think we'd have all done less time for murder with good behavior.

So true! And there have been times I have been sorely tempted. Living near my MIL has been a true test of endurance!

SuperRams ( are you from Derby?!) I feel your pain, you sound like a male version of me. but I have been here 13 years and it is still painful, I too live in a remote area in NH..... took me 10 years to even begin to make a life for me. But dont give up, I have waited until my children are adults albeit young ones, 18 and 19, I have to have my life now........I long to go home everyday, that sick empty feeling as if somethings is missing just never goes away.
Good luck to you and all who are making the move.
barb how many sleeps now, can you believe it!?

I am not from Derby but i do support them (no jokes please :-)) I can understand and feel your pain... it does sound like we are in similar situations. The home situation here does not help also but i just dont see a way back home for me for at least another 13 years as that is when my youngest will be 18. From my perspective, it is really hard to feel positive about this and have the feeling that one day i will be back home when the reality is that it wont happend for over 10 years. Can i hold on that long? Who knows.... you just keep plugging along and take each day as it comes. Xmas is a hard time, normally i see my parents every other year. This was their year to come over but due to a recent operation my mother cannot travel so they are not coming. They will come in the summer when there is no chance of snow due to remove any risk of her falling.

If i can help in any way then let me know... it may even help me,
