I am trying to put together the spouse visa application so I can return to the UK with my American husband.

Does anyone know where I can get an official list of the documents/backup needed to be sent with the application.

I have done quite a lot of research and I am getting conflicting information from different sources.

You need to supply documentation showing you can fulfill the financial requirements, have accommodation in the UK and have a genuine relationship.There is no 'one' list; you need to supply documents based on your own circumstances. A 'typical' list could consist of payslips, bank statements, letter of employment, rental agreement for accommodation, marriage certificate for relationship etc etc
