Son thinking of moving back to the UK

We moved to Australia over 8 years ago and my eldest son (24 years old) is talking about going back to the UK to move in with his father. He has had a very bumpy ride here and after a relationship breakdown has decided to try to settle back in the UK. He has his citizenship here so can come back and although it is pretty gut wrenching for us, he has got family there to help. I just need some advice on the best way to help him. He has been diagnosed with schizophrenia but is stable with medication and he is hoping to get part time work as soon as possible.
Thanks
Nicky

You get used to it! Mine left at around that age and has had a great time and, after 11 years has married, has a house and no intention of returning! Hopefully his medical condition will be well managed - make sure he goes with comprehensive medical records and that his support network is sound.

Good luck, I have a brother with the condition and I have nothing but praise for the medical and housing/community support he has received. Unfortunately it is a very difficult illness to manage if the person afflicted decides to not take their medication.

Hi, I'm a counsellor and the support he will get in England will be excellent. The government has improved the system lots over the last few years. I can't advise on the bit about your children moving away as mine is only 5. I can only try to imagine how you will be feeling about it all. Always here if you need me, just pm me anytime.

Thanks. This week has been full on with moving him out of his apartment with his ex and next we have to sort centrelink drs etc out here. I'm booking flights this week as prices are going up by the minute for this time of year. I am going over with him and my younger son to visit family then heading home mid January. Hopefully by the time that I leave he will have made a connection with drs etc over in the UK and I will know that he is settled.
