Must admit - makes being back home all the more enjoyable.
LOVING IT.

Bring on more snow!! ;o)

Happy Christmas guys.

AMAZING. I'm on Vancouver Island and you have lots more snow than us. Fantastic isn't it? My little boy loves it and it makes a place transform into a wonderful winter wonderland. It's a bugger when it's around to long as the old shovelling the drive routine gets a little dull.

Anyway, happy snowy days.

It does have arms (twigs) but you can't see them in the pic. It had a hat and scarf on too earlier but son thought someone would pinch them.

Just got these from my sister. She lives in Bucks about 5 miles from high Wycombe, apparently some of the West Wycombe lads got busy.

Yey, it's just started snowing here again. Hoping it'll be a totally white xmas eve and day.
So far the snow's made all the difference in the lead up to all things xmassy.
Loving it!

I am So jealous of your snow.

You know for many years I had 4 wishes which were:

1. For a whippet to win crufts dog show and for me to be working there as part of the veterinary nursing team and watch it in the main ring - that happened and I was there to see it.

2. For us to get our visa and move to Australia - box ticked.

3. For my Mum to survive her last xmas in time for us to renew our wedding vows - 2005 this happened.

4. To have a white Christmas - now if any member of my family in the South East of England has a white Christmas, I will hijack it and claim it for my own because it sort of counts even if I am not there to enjoy it.

This is the closest I have ever come to having the white Christmas bit and if I hear from my sisters that there is snow on the ground tomorrow, I am going to bloody cry because that has been my dream for a long time.

Here in a very wintry and snowy Edinburgh this morning Christmas Eve morning the official air temperature is -12C (minus twelve degrees Celsius) and it is ******* cold enough to freeze your ******** off. Why on earth would anyone currently living in warm, sunny climates would want to move back to this?

Some of us would certainly prefer very cold to very hot, but I grant you that -12 is uncomfortably cold, and if there's a bit of wind chill it's miserable, especially if you don't have the kit to deal with it. My sympathies.

But in England (as opposed to Canada) this sort of winter is short. Imagine looking ahead to a few more months of it.

But even so, I think I'd take, say, Ottawa, over one of these places where it's 35 plus for months on end. With the right clothes and footwear (and snow tires, and if necessary studs and chains) I can get out in deep winter, even with icicles forming on the end of my nose. There's nothing for me in the extreme heat than to hope to have ac to huddle in.

Bev -- a temperate climate sort of gal.

Np pics, I'm afraid, but Suzy and I just got back from a 90-minute walk in a winter wonderland - 15 minutes in, I realised I'd left the camera at home! Stopped off at the local country park cafe for a hot coffee and bacon and egg buttie (sliver of bacon saved for Suzy, of course).

Hopefully it will still be around tomorrow (it's set to stay below freezing in Glasgow, so should be) and I'll post some pics from our Christmas Day walk ...

OK, here's a taster for what's to come tomorrow. This was taken out of my home office/front bedroom window.
