Hiya!! thanks for that info, Graham is an electrical Project Manager nd at present is building sub stations here in WA but wants to stay as Project Manager back in UK. He has been approached by quite a few agencies but until we can give them dates we get back we cant do anything
I wouldnt mind getting back into office work or shop work (which i did while kids little), anything really. He doesnt really wanna have to start right at the bottom again and I know Birmingham and Manchester etc are close field so Im hoping something will come up...
Yeh we will keep in touch I must say that area is really appealing to me and especially as Wales is not too far away, as we like holidaying there and my friends will be able to visit regularly, fingers crossed something turns up and we sell this blimmin house

Just thought I'd ask if you have had any luck with selling house?
Hi Kath and Graham
You sound like you have the job situation in hand. It's worrying though isn't it? I'm sure you will sort if once you have a set date to be home.
How about Shropshire, are you still interested?
I have some great news. I now have my new baby's NZ and UK passport. Once my husband has seen a few more places we can go home. It will be Christmas at the latest. At last i have something to look forward too.
I just wish our eldest was coming home too. He is staying here with his NZ girlfriend. I'd bribe him if i thought it would work!!!!!! however, his girlfriend is very, very nice and bloody georgeous to boot!!! I don't stand a chance!!!
Hope you are progressing with your move home.

Just went back and re read the thread,Im obviously just talking about Market Drayton here but it may reflect the rest of the county. My daughter arrived last Thursday to live with her sister. On Friday she picked up 10 job applications, she,s filled them all in and sentthem, waiting for replies now.So hopefully thats a reflection of wwhats happening there. Anyway lots of luck with werever you go.

I've just been reading your message and i hope you don't mind me asking, but do you find it hard living in a different country to your children?
I ask because I'm moving back to the UK from NZ. My eldest, who is 18 in October is staying in NZ with his girlfriend.
I'm finding it very difficult.
I will be going back to Shropshire. Probably to Clee Hill. I lived there for quite some time and it's one of the best places.
All the best.

Same here, wish I ould bribe my daughter to go back but there is no way she wants to, she and hubbie (Oz) are more than happy here, plus a baby on the way in December. So what can I do, just let them lead their own lives which they are entitled to.
I have it firmly fixed that when I get my ticket to UK I will buy a return one so I can come back to see them, then just buy another return. Have to start selling a load more craft stuff wont I!

I think you are right mandtooz. My son has already said that he is glad he came, as he likes it. He has also said that now he can go live in OZ when the time is right. It still makes me unhappy, but it's what he wants and i have to respect that.
As for my inlaws............................. I did get on with his mom really well. I tolerated his step dad. Now i feel manipulated by her.
OH tolerates his step-dad and although he gets on with his mom, he isn't over close to her. He has said that he finds her very draining. Yes she is!!!!
Good luck for Saturday and Sunday, KathandGraham. I hope you find a buyer.
Sounds like your bribery is going to be expensive!!!!! I hope that she decides to go back with you. I know how you are feeling. Good luck, let me know how things go.
You poor thing Plant. You are right that you have to let them lead there lives. However, it's not easy when it's tugging at the heart strings. Is this baby going to be your first grandchild? I hope i have that right.
Knowing there are others in my situation really helps. I feel a lot less isolated in my turmoil.
Cheers

Hi Kath Graham .Hope things are working out for you,and someone is buying your house.
Hi Karni 31.Where do I start, about the kids. All my three live in uk,Two have got families of their own,and are settled. My youngest daughter is 18yrs old. I would love her here but she prefers uk.I have to say since she has moved in with her sisters family Im not worrying so much.Mind you it never stops however old they are.She is happy now(after break up with boyfriend,it was rough for a while} Anyways I keep the door open to all of them and we have a really good understanding between us all, long distance. Not as long distance as most of you.It breaks your heart sometimes, yet they are always with you too.As I said before MOH is also away a lot of the time and it can get difficult like an empty feeling. Then I think how lucky I am to be here. I better fill you in here otherwise some of the things I come out with will not make sense.Sorry everyone if Im going on here
2 yrs ago I had a stroke if it hadnt been for MOH I wouldnt be here
that is why im over here, the kids know this and everyone overthere knows I have to stay over here.So it makes it more understandable. Also I can work fulltime at my work, which is a bit of a miracle. What Im trying to say and not very well, is to all of you your kids love you to pieces, and as long as they know they can come home, you'll be ok.Make no mistake sometimes its unbearable, but you always in their hearts and they will love you even more if its possible, for your understanding.
Please forgive me for waffling.xxxxx

Hi mandtooz
Yes we know Billingsley. It is a beautiful part of the countryside. Rural but not out of touch by any means.
It is just outside of Bridgnorth which is a lovely historic market town. You will find supermarkets, school's, builders merchants, restaurants, pubs etc.
We are looking at buying a business about 10 minutes from Billingsley.
Billingsley also has easy access to many larger towns such as; Telford, Kidderminster, Wolverhampton. But they are far enough way to have no effect on your area.
Do you think you will off soon?
