Hi.
I'm from shropshire. We lived on Clee Hill. I miss it a lot, so much so we plan to return later this year. We are currently living in New Zealand
My children attended Lacon Childe school in the neighboring village of Cleobury Mortimer. It's a fantastic school. You can view it on the internet.
I can't wait to get back it's a beautiful area. One i didn't appreciate enough.
There are many great places in Shropshire. Telford is ok. However you could live in one of it's neighboring villages. Get up a google map of shropshire and then investigate the areas.
To me, there is no where better than the good old Clee Hills.

oh couldnt agree more, we lived a few years back in far forest, our eldest went to the far forest primary - just a lovely english village school!
cant wait to get back there, 6 and a bit weeks!!!

It's so uplifting to talk about something that makes me happy. I have been so very unhappy for the last seven months. I am just waiting for our new baby boy to receive his NZ and UK passport, then were off.
Maybe we could go the the Plough pub when we are both back. Just imagine a great pint!!!!!

its a small world!! the plough does nice food now!
bangers and mash washed down with some beer, proper sausages!! we are trying our hardest to secure a rental bridgnorth, then we can have best of both worlds, as family all live telford/shrewsbury end and i would love to go back to worcester hospital fingers crossedxx

Yes the plough does do nice food. My sister works there. She is always letting me know how nice the sausages are, she knows how much i miss them. Another coincidence we have is Worcester hospital. My auntie has worked there too. Are you a nurse? She now works at Kidderminster. Kidderminster now has a great shopping centre, have a look when you get back. Sorry to be nosey but why are you going home? Also, maybe we know each other. My first name is Gail. I used to live down New Road in Far Forest.

omg, i lived new forest close! just off new road i think if i remember right!!!
im a midwife, did my training at the old ronkswood site, stupidly moved to shropshire and shrewsbury hospital - biggest mistake.................however if i hadnt done that i wouldnt have come to oz i think, so no regrets really!
im going home cause i miss everything, im too english! miss the countryside oh and just everything! are you heading back too? why!!?

Yes you remember correctly. Did you live in one of the newly built houses in Forest Close? I'm returning for the exact same reasons. I'm very disappointed that it hasn't worked in NZ but you never now if it will until you do it. My eldest son is staying in NZ. It's a very difficult time for me, but it's what he wants to do and he is 18 in October, old enough to make his own decisions. My twelve year old is eager to go home. My OH isn't. However, he will return for my sanity. How long have you been in OZ? Are you a midwife there?

No i lived in the houses overlooking the field, after we chopped the hedge down, lol, i had two children then, one in far forest and one baby (have three now), was friends with debbie on your road? she had one boy at the time, but has had a girl since then.....
yes midwife here but only very very casual, actually hardly ever since we made decision to come back, why learn their ways? !!

hello, we have been here just over a yr, we knew from the early days that oz for life wasnt for us! and this has stayed the same, we dont hate oz, but we dont love it enough to stay! if that makes sense.
I think all those that say you need to stay for two yrs are talkin rubbish!
, follow your heart..........you have one life and thats it, so do what you want and dont listen to those that tell you otherwise.
Yes i miss the grey skys ans snow!! lol but im not sure its those specific things i miss or just miss home! i personally think all those that list what they miss, and im included in that! are unhappy where they are and try and find reasons to satisfy other people when really they just want to go home and thats it! lol
when you planning on making the leap?

You are right that people in our situation do keep thinking and trying to justify why they want to come home.

I will definatly be gone by the end of November, this year. We will have been here a year by then. I would like to think i could make it until then, for tax reasons and for my OH to have seen all he wants to see of NZ. But i'm not sure if i will.

I know the Mid to South Shropshire area very well. Also Worcester City is just out of Shropshire but in very similar countryside. It has everything you could ask for; shops, schools, cinema, restaurants, bars nightclubs, colleges etc the M5 runs down the west side. It may be just what you are looking for.
If it's too big. There are many small villages within your 30 min travelling range. To look it up just put Worcester City in a google search. Also, look at www.maps.google.co.uk put in worcester and select satellite view. This will show you the lay out. Like an aerial photo. You should be able to see all the neighbouring villages.
Both my partner and I have worked in that area. Villages such as; Suckley, Alfrick, Lusley. Somewhere a little bigger is Bromyard. This is Shropshire way has cheaper house prices and is within your 30 min of motorway access. Also try; Martley, Heightington, Stourport-on-severn, Far Forest, Ombersley (bit pricey!) there are a wealth of beautiful places out that way.
If you want to know about any areas you may find on the map, give me a shout i will help if i can.
If we do all end up back in the same area we will have to meet up.

Hiya!! thanks for that info, Graham is an electrical Project Manager nd at present is building sub stations here in WA but wants to stay as Project Manager back in UK. He has been approached by quite a few agencies but until we can give them dates we get back we cant do anything
I wouldnt mind getting back into office work or shop work (which i did while kids little), anything really. He doesnt really wanna have to start right at the bottom again and I know Birmingham and Manchester etc are close field so Im hoping something will come up...
Yeh we will keep in touch I must say that area is really appealing to me and especially as Wales is not too far away, as we like holidaying there and my friends will be able to visit regularly, fingers crossed something turns up and we sell this blimmin house

Any of you kind people let me know anything about this area?? How do google to get facts about it? I put it in google, but couldnt seem to find anything real info about this or surrounding areas...Telford I've heard of it is it rough (sorry people live there, but seen as Im from Medway Towns, now that is rough
