Should i quit?
Hello, I have posted in here a few times before, and no I'm not trolling. I'm seriously thinking on delay my spouce visa application or quit on it.
My husband refuses to get a lawyer advice (not even for the whole process just an initial advice) even if I have offered to pay the lawyer 1 hour advising because he says is not necessary and continue telling me he doesn't trust the lawyer , I want an advice from a lawyer cos I think there is a few things that we need to work in for example we only chat via wassap, we never call each other or we never Skype or face time each other. I was there in the UK last September for a month however I stayed in a hostel the whole time because he was living with his parents, I don't have the boarding pass, when I entered migration in the UK in September as well i told them I was travelling because by that time we were getting back together (we had been together since 2009 living in my country and been married since 2012 however we split last June and get back together in September) As well I'm facing some money problems I'm in a credit card debt of around $1.000, I have money for the visa application and he will help me with the NHS and when I'm there but Im not working at the moment so I don't wanna leave my country before paying for the credit card, as well not have enough for the plane ticket, I plan to sell my furniture but then if they don't give me the visa? I'm from Latin America so it's a expensive thing for me I don't feel the moral at least support of my husband in other things as well for example I have anxiety but he doesn't seem to care or support me in it, a lot of times he just leaving me chatting alone on wassap. I dunno what to do i don't feel safe with this visa, I'm having a nightmare with the money and I don't feel his support. I as well try to advice him therapy for both but he doesn't think we need it. I know is a personal post but I really would appreciate some advice |
Re: Should i quit?
Maybe have a read back over your previous posts? People have already given you their (strong) opinions on your partners behaviour, not sure you need it again do you? Have another read of this thread and the opinions people gave you 7 months ago - https://britishexpats.com/forum/citi...e-visa-908519/
IMO - this isn't a partnership, nor a relationship. At least not a nice one. |
Re: Should i quit?
To be honest, I'm glad that you're starting to come to the realisation that your husband isn't really acting in a normal husband capacity. Your life, as you describe it, isn't in order and that should be your main focus, because it doesn't seem like it's your husband's focus at the moment.
Your previous posts indicate that your husband is not attached to the process of getting you over to the UK as his spouse. You've mentioned living in a hostel countless times and have not shown to us that your relationship is genuinely subsisting, which is the main criteria of a spouse visa. Before you proceed to move to a country that is not familiar to you at all with a person that doesn't seem to want you, you should sit down and think very hard. You are exposing yourself to various risks, one of which is paying for an expensive visa application that may fail without refunds. |
Re: Should i quit?
Pre - please look after yourself and do what is right for you. Sending you my best wishes. |
Re: Should i quit?
Should you quit this relationship? Yes, quite definitely, and get on with your life .........

Re: Should i quit?
Divorce him.

Re: Should i quit?
We may all sound harsh but it really seems your husband is not helping at all with your visa. I would definitely advise you to give up trying to get him involved and remain where you are. It could be awful for you to come here and find he is not at all supportive. You deserve better than that! |

Re: Should i quit?
Thanks to everyone for you opinions and yes I'm considering the application and yea first I have to look after myself. Is difficult because day after tomorrow I have my Ielts exam in my neighbour county so I have to travel 16 hours, he paid for the exam and I pay for the bus ticket and hotel and at the moment I'm rethinking everything

Re: Should i quit?
I’m normally pretty mild with everything I say on this forum. However, in this case I want to say the following - unless the exam is something that you want to do please don’t do it because he happened to pay for it. Trust your gut and the fact that you are questioning everything suggests that you know the right thing to do. Don’t let anyone dim your spirit. |
Re: Should i quit?
I've nothing further to add other than I don't think anyone on this forum, or anywhere else for that matter, will encourage you to do anything other than walk away from this 'relationship'.

Re: Should i quit?
DUMP HIM....its as simple as that, don't be treated like a dishcloth. Look after yourself and to heck with useless baggage.....you will do well and get over it....
