shipping about 8 boxes to UK, Looking for help
 

Hi all,

I'm moving back to the UK Next month and now looking to ship about 8 or so boxes back. If anyone has got any ideas for shipping from Calgary to UK I would really appreciate it! I do remember an advert on here for shipping boxes back, but cant remember the name of the company. Think you could purchase different amounts of boxes and space?

I'm just bumping this up. I know there is a company for this kind of thing, and I've tried to find it here with no success. Someone will know I'm sure.:)

Thanks for that. I have emailed them as site is manly US. Like I said only got about 8 - 10 boxes. Just looking for best options lol. :thumbsup:

Another option is air cargo. Again, I don't have any experience in this area as I shared a container when moving back from Calgary. Good luck with your move.

Air freight is the way to do it. Get a customs clearance agent at the UK end. You will need an itemised inventory for each box.

Any idea what price your looking at for say 10 boxes. I got quoted door to door $1600.

I used Saudis Air Cargo. Surprisingly efficient. They packed, collected and did the paperwork. At Glasgow I used an agent to clear the stuff through customs and arrange onward shipment by road.

I just checked up Virgin Atlantic's extra baggage policy which I thought was pretty good. Sports stuff goes free too.

have you tried Homeshipping .com they will ship 7 large boxes @50lbs to UK for $395, I am moving back to UK in October and have around 8 boxes. This seems to be a steal but I am worried about the charges at the UK end. Anyone have any dealings with this company or the charges at the UK.

Have a look at movingscam.com and look up the companies you are thinking of using. Also you can ask them who they use at the other end if you are paying for door to door service.
We shipped Monday with Rainier total was 260 cubic feet, and we delivered to the warehouse so from there to the house in UK was just $2700 including the insurance.
