Default Setting up company in UK

I am moving back to UK in April to set up a UK operation for my Australian employer. Obviously we will need to register a business in UK etc. Can anyone point me towards websites etc that can give guidance as to the process? Business will be located in Romsey, Hants (although I'll live in Plymouth as that's were I'm from).

Thanks in advance - Stu

Speak to First Contact in london. They set up companies for Ozzie temps working as Ltd Cos.

You may wish to spk to your FD / Lawyer as they may want a branch rather than a ltd co.

Location has no bearing in company formation.

You will need one or two directors and a registered office, an approved name and some capital. They can be bought off the shelf.

Thisnk about VAT registration and registration as an employer, a bank account and liability insurance. The bank will help. Banks always help!!

Good luck and employ loads of Brits!!

A great website for setting up any company in the UK is Companies House http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk. It gives you all the information that you need and also allows you to register a business name.

Try Barclays Business http://www.barclays.co.uk/business for business banking also, they are very good and offer lots of useful advice, seminars and free banking for the first 12 months. Hope that’s of some use.

No problem, have a look at this website also, which may prove helpful http://www.uk-plc.net/. They will basically set up a Limited company for you, which saves you having to purchase the relevant documents required by Companies House and having them signed by your own solicitor, it’s a far more convenient approach and they have always seemed very professional when we have dealt with them in the past.
