Renting back sounds like an option, will just need to thin-out our stuff before the house sell completes.

The problem I see, as it's a buyers market, that anything we add to the contract could quite easily be rejected by the buyer.

However, we need someone interested in the house first.....

The house price has been coming down over these 8 months, including two days ago, so hopefully someone will be interested.

Maybe you need to take it off the market for 2 weeks then relist it at the lower price. It then goes onto the market as a new listing not a reduced one, you will get more action.

Your realtor should have already told you to pack up as much of your stuff as you can and store it, so that your house looks less full. Not saying you have clutter, but buyers want a house that looks like a furniture showroom, not someone else's house if you know what I mean. I've done this twice and it's hard, but it also helps you whittle down all the junk so you don't have to pay to ship it only to end up dumping it when you get there.
