Thank you all once again - for ALL you good wishes and karma - the good vibes are reaching me here in snowy WV
Right now I'm at the stage were I just want this over and done with. I've gone through the 'worst' over and over in my head - it can't be any worse than I have imagined, it could even be good news! :fingerscrossed:. Frank Gallagher's Alternative Christmas message from my fave program still keeps me  *warning not for the *easily* ( that's a bit of an understatement!) offended* I really can't tell you how much your good wishes and messages of support have helped {{hugs}} |

Re: Scared, Angry and Confused....
Firstly thank you for the wonderful flowers! They are absolutely gorgeous and I'm sat here looking at them as I type :wub: They arrived shortly after I got home, and to say they were a surprise would be an understatement! I thought the UPS guy had the wrong address - but no they were for me! I will treasure the message card as a reminder of how thoughtful and considerate my BE family are. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Now an update. I was up at 5am (for a 5:30am pickup) The roads were bad again and a friend who works at the hospital ( Mon General) kindly offered to take me. Route 19 in Mon county was particularly bad, but she took it nice and slow and we arrived around 6:30am - for my 7am appointment. The staff had me registered, prepped and ready for the doctor by 7:30am. And so it began. Overall, the procedure was relatively painless. The only problem was due to the amount of scar tissue in that breast the 'numbing' injections weren't as immediately effective as they should have been. The staff and the doctor were great though - as soon I felt any discomfort they would stop and give me more numbing stuff - so that was cool. Put it this way I've had far more painful dentist visits than this, so if you are ever having to undergo this procedure - don't worry about it, it's relatively pain free  It took a bit long than expected because of the extra difficulty getting round the scar tissue, but apart from that it was all good :) After it was done, I had a brief chat with the doctor. Of course he wasn't able to tell me anything until the pathology had been done but you gotta ask don't you. Besides which this was HIS set of images they took during the procedure and I wanted to know if he had any further impressions ( actually I really wanted him to tell me it was clean  ) Anyways he said, without the pathology he couldn't really say BUT he was still leaning towards it not being cancer. His exact words were: " I think it will be clear. Although I have been wrong before, but very rarely. If I definitely thought it was cancer then I would tell you that, but we need to wait and see the results" So that's some good news right? :fingerscrossed: he's on the money this time :) I will be scheduling an appointment for the results Wednesday or Thursday next week. So I guess we will find out then. My friend got off her shift early to give me a ride back ( much easier than the journey there as the roads were clear). The hospital staff trussed me up pretty good, with dressings and some mini ice packs to help keep any swelling down. There's no pain at all in the area - I just have to be careful not to do any heaving lifting for the next day or so. Just precautionally really as physically I feel fine :) Mentally I feel relieved that this procedure is over. My head is a lot more clearer ( you all have played such a large part in that  ) Just being able to talk about was huge step forward for me, and your kind words and wonderful support has helped me soooo much. Thank you once again for helping me through this difficult time much love xxxxxx |
