How terribly sad. It really makes you realise that this could happen to any of us, or anyone we know, any time really.
I guess that's a very good reason to try to make the most of life and try to do the things we really want to do, while we can.
Life is indeed so unfair and there's no way to understand why things like this happen, too often to really good people.

I am so sad to read this news. She was such a lovely lady who helped so many people on BE. Condolences to her family.

I have just heard that Paula (Pants on here) has lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully this week. So very sad. My deepest sympathies to her family. My heart goes out to them.

A child losing a parent through cancer is very close to my heart. My heart goes out to her children, her husband and all those close to her.

I for one, am going to book my mammogram next week.
To those in Western Australia, details are on this website - I called this number and was informed that screening is free to those of 40 years of age and probably earlier if a history of breast cancer in the family.
