Returning to the UK: where are you in the process?
While frequenting the MBTTUK forum, you see a lot of familiar faces. Some of us already have plans in place, while others are just thinking of moving back at this stage.
I just thought it would be interesting to do a quick poll, to see who's where in the process of moving back. It should be a public poll (if I do this right!). |
Re: Returning to the UK: where are you in the process?
As the poll says, in the process but no exact date as yet. Wish I did and then everything else should fall into place.
Good luck to everyone which ever stage your at. Lynne x |

Re: Returning to the UK: where are you in the process?
I knew that I wouldn't do the poll think right - I never do. :( Ah, well.
We're off on the 21st July. I've gone from being really sad about leaving Aus to really looking forwards to being back in the UK. Most things are sorted; just need to find somewhere to live now. |

Re: Returning to the UK: where are you in the process?
I'm in a situation where one of us has already gone back and I'm waiting to sell the house and follow. It's a horrible state to be in and I wouldn't recommend it.

Re the car - We had to sell back to the dealer, lost over $7k as we had also bought brand new! But what can ya do! lol |
Re: Returning to the UK: where are you in the process?
I am looking at flights for me as I am going early to start the school year in September and the dog and cat had their rabies blood test today. So fingers crossed OH can leave in exactly 6 months from today.

Re: Returning to the UK: where are you in the process?
House on market, removals quoted and dogs ready to go, hopefully be outta here no later than beginning of November:p
|
Re: Returning to the UK: where are you in the process?
I have just booked for Hubby & kids to return in August, I hope to join them but if house hasn't sold he will go back with the kids so they can start school in september, also he has a job lined up so the sooner he starts earning the sooner we can get a mortgage and buy a house in UK.
The cost of living here is stressing me out I don't know how much longer I can keep going !!!! |
Re: Returning to the UK: where are you in the process?
Just wanted to say a big GOOD LUCK to all of you moving back!!!!:)
There seems to be so many at the moment that, Im not sure if Ive wished you well or not! Its a huge, huge, brave, mad and scary decision.....but you all know that. :)And hopefully with that knowledge you will have a new found energy and determination to make a success of your new life back in Blighty. Welcome HOME to you all The forecast is predicting the hottest Summer on record this year - Ive tried to get a plumber for a week now. All people who showed to give quotes etc BRITISH, all very busy so no joy yet - so no, the Poles havent taken all our work. (If anyone knows of one, though, I could use him for my bathroom right now!) Have I got News for you was on TV last night. Paul Merton was partner with a Perth commedian. You know what P Mertons like - he just was so scarcastic with any comments the Ozzie made, he made him look like a pr@@k! The humour here hopefully will help you, it does me! Anyway, Best of British! Chrissy |

The family return for their first trip back in early July. I will be my second. What made you decide to go back? We are just visiting but I am looking forward to it. It's been a lot harder to settle here than i thought. It will be three years in October. |

We only ever moved over here thinking it would be for two years. We passed that milestone in March, so we're heading back in July. What wasn't part of the plan was falling hopelessly in love with Aus and planning to pong before we've even pinged. :D But we're lucky - we're now Australian citizens so can come and go as we please. I think we'll spend the next few years in Blighty, but will do a stint out here again at some point in the future. We're looking forwards to going back, but will be sad to leave Aus, too. Hope all is well with you and yours. :) |
