Default Returning to London after 20 years in Europe

In today's Guardian -- one man's thoughts:

Those who've returned, do you agree?

nobody made him go to London or go in Starbucks or the tube etc etc etc maybe the guy just needs a cottage in the country, but then I guess life would be to slow for him and there would be no action and not a Starbucks in sight.
He doesn't talk about the great British People or the not so extreem climate or the fact that you can have a walk to the shops and see 20 familiar faces and when they ask you how are you doing they ACTUALLY mean it

He was from London when he left so he was comparing it with the London of 1987.

He's returning from Europe, though, not the U.S. You can walk to the shops there, too, and see 20 familiar faces who won't ask how you are doing and not mean it Though, TBH, I can walk to the shops here in the U.S. and see plenty of familiar faces. As for the "great British people", well I'm sure there are some great people there, but there are also great people in any country.
