Default Returning to Blighty - advice needed

Hi All,

After six years in the US we've decided to return home.

Any recommendations on a good shipper to get our stuff back to the UK from the East Bay, CA area?

Also anyone have experience of taking a car back home? Is worth the hassle/cost? The car is only a couple of years old and the value is higher in the UK than US for the model/age.

Thanks all!

L

Much demand for left-hand drive models in the UK these days? I doubt you would recoup the shipping costs.

On the south coast, quite a few as it happens. We'll be using it a lot to travel down to Spain and tour Europe. The lefthand drive isn't a huge issue. But rear lamp clusters might have to be changed to meet UK spec.

Shipping-wise I'm thinking we could get a container for car and most of our stuff. Either that or get rid of everything and ship the bare minimum. However, then there's the cost of re-purchase in the UK to consider.

Have you looked in Moving back to the UK section for shipping recommendations?
