Here is James the Farmer ploughing the field at the back of our house (well the one we are renting). And look - not a chav in sight (although I hear James does sometimes wear trackies when he's not working)

Thank you Louise, that pic is lovely. It looks just like the view we had from our bedroom window in our old house back home.

Yes it is beautiful - especially on a clear morning as the sun rises just over the hill - just wish it was ours to keep but don't think the owner will sell the place. I'll get out and about with the camera again at weekend - possibly going to the Lake District on Saturday so hope to get some nice piccies for you.

I am off to Scotland next week. I shall post some pic's on my return. Have heard that it is bordy's old stamping ground so I shall have to see what secrets I can unearth. It is really silly because I never realised how beautiful this country was till I left..

The other thing that I have realised since returning is the amazing amount of good deeds that people do for other. There is the obligatory amount of school fund raising but what amazes me is the amount of people raising money for other charities.People say that there is no community spirit left!

Funny, I lived in Woodhall Road in Pencaitland, Scotland. There was a big posh old stately home nearby called Woodhall that it was named after!!

People go on about how much "community spirit" there is in Australia. But where we live - every house has a fence or wall right up to the edge of the pavement - you never see your neighbours!! Where we lived in England - all the front gardens were open plan - or had very low fencing - so you'd frequently be waving or nodding or saying hello to the neighbours!

So true Mrs B. When we lived in Oz, we hardly saw the neighbours at all (had one conversation in 12 months). We moved into our rental here in the UK and the guys from next door and next but one all came round welcoming us in the first week. People are just so friendly here.

Had my mum and dad round today though telling me how sad I was that I loved it here We should be still in Oz enjoying life

as promised some pics from bonnie Scotland. Had a fantastic time and wished that we had longer there. Beats all the holidays that I have had in Victoria... the best bit was the speed boat in the open sea around some of the most inspirational islands that we have seen. The kids were fully entertained with kids club activities, just what you need when you are 2 adults and 7 kids

The weather was a very pleasant 18 degs and we even managed to squeeze a horse ride around a castle. I have realised that the UK has it all... you just need to make the effort.

for some reason i can't upload the photos.. not sure why
