Returnees....
There seems to be more people returning to Uk from Oz than anywhere else. I've been reading threads on MBTUK for a while and there seem to be a lot more unhappy expats in Oz compared to NZ, for example.
Do you think this a fair observation? And if so why? |
Re: Returnees....
Percentile has something to do with I would suggest.
So is a fair observation, bit also there is the same few who hang around in the MBTTUK forum too. |
Re: Returnees....
I have lived in both countries. I think it has more to do with the fact less people go to NZ more than anything else.
I have also noticed that quite a few end up moving over to Australia rather than going back to UK initially. |

How would you compare the two?
Out of the 2 I would say Australia suits me more than NZ although I would have to say I dont like rural Australia either. It has to be Sydney for me. I have lived in 3 locations in Aus and it suits me above all others, but ultimately I dont want to be anywhere else but UK anymore. I am very glad i lived in NZ and Aus. Mostly I have enjoyed it, although I did have huge problems coping with leaving my homeland for the first couple of years. NZ is stunningly beautiful and beats Aus hands down for scenery. In fact i'd say it beats most countires on that score! But for my own personal lifestyle it doesnt have enough to keep me occupied and i felt i was living in a time warp. Even Aus makes me feel like that to a much lesser degree. I think I just feel as if I have separated myself from the rest of the planet and feel i am missing out. |

Well, I am married to a New Zealander and that is why we initially went there. I could not cope with the boredom and too quiet lifestyle after coming from London.
