I currently work and have a business in Vietnam I am almost at retirement age, 9 months off, and want to spend most of my time back in the UK with management trips back to Vietnam. What are my pension rights as a UK citizen? I have lived the majority of my life outside UK but have been back working there for short periods.

Wouldnt think you have any unless you have been paying your NI contributions while you have been overseas. I wouldnt think there was a reciprocal pension agreement between UK and Vietnam but you never know. So it looks as if you would be reliant on any pension plan you have been paying into for your working life. Must admit it is one of the big barriers to us going back - we would have to live on our Aussie super and that probably wont travel too well if the dollar plummets.
