Repatriating from Aus, to start a family!
My partner and I are returning to the Uk after what will be 5 years (just) of life in Sydney, partly cause our visa is up, partly because we want to start a family with a half decent support network around!
I've been trawling sites and forums for days and cant seem to find much information on what this means for us if we want to start a family soonish after our return.. are we still able to get full access of NHS?
Are there things we should hold off on, or plan waaayyy in advance in terms of this?
Also, does anyone know what 5 years of being away means for us tax-wise on return to the UK? (we've been here as 'residents for tax purpose' so not paying tax in uk, and paying tax in Aus.
Thanks in advance for any tips!
Lucy

You are covered by the NHS the moment you arrive back. You will just need to register with a GP.
No no real effect on tax. It just starts again.

When our son moved back a couple of years he made sure he had no foreign income after he moved back so just went straight onto PAYE with his new job. With us it was more complicated as we have foreign pensions so have to file self assessments for UK taxes.
