Recommendations for shipping New Jersey to London

Looking into moving costs and companies. Does anyone have any recommendations for shipping my apartment from New Jersey to London?

Books, clothes, and electronics, or furniture too?

Depending on your preference you can use a removal company based in the UK or USA so you have quite a lot of choice of companies.

A great place to start for your shortlist is to check out FIDI website for a list of FAIM certified international removal companies in New Jersey OR the area of the UK you're moving back to, to make sure whoever you're using is fully qualified, licensed and independently vetted for overseas moving.

Think about the things you do and don’t want to take with you. A big part of shipping costs is based on volume of items you’re taking, so de-cluttering in advance can be a great way of not paying for things you really aren’t going to use. It's especially worth identifying the items that won't fit in a UK apartment, or wont work (some electronics) as there is really no point shipping those just to have to get rid of when you get here.

There are lots more tips about choosing reputable removals companies and your different options (including whether you need your own container or a shared one) over on our vendor forum for International Removals advice. Hope it helps!
