I was talking with a friend about Antoine the "hide your people" brother whose sister was attacked in her bedroom. He is making money out of his new fame. The friend thinks this would "only happen in America". Do any of you know of any UK cases of a tv interview for something similar which might have made money/fame for the person?

There was some remix of his interview and they are making a ringtone from it, he will get money from that. He also is trying to get people to give money on facebook to get them out of the projects because his sister is now scared to stay there.
