Absolutely anything. I never had pancakes back in the UK. Since coming to the states though I've discovered the IHOP chain and now can't leave the damn things alone. The most amazing thing is that they cause your jeans to shrink......mmm must be a tenuous link there somewhere!

Back in the early 80's it was known as the Cambridge Diet. I tried it for a while, it was expensive and tasted like crap
If you mixed up the powder and didn't drink it straight away it would congeal into a gunky lump and after seeing that a few times I just couldn't bring myself to try it anymore.

honey and lemon for me...though over here, maple syrup, the proper stuff....but i'm not a major pan cake fan.

Well they sort of recognise the day though.....'cos the radio announcers are always talking about 'Fat Tuesday' instead of saying 'Mardi Gras'. (The whole idea of eating filling food as Ash Wednesday begins the next day - the onset of Lent).
Perhaps it's just in New Orleans where they have the parade and probably special things to eat?

mmm lemon and sugar pancakes, brings back memories. Only really loved lemon and sugar, although my mum does some delicious savory pancakes. Ahhh wish i hadn't missed it
