Sallysimmons...Have you thought of going to the shelter and asking could you foster a cat for a while. They have quite a few cats at our shelter that need fostering it might help both your cat and the foster cat.

My poor cat is in a real state. As I told you guys, we lost a cat last week to cancer. This is his brother. They've been together since they were born and, while they didn't hang out all the time, they did play fight a lot. For the last few days, Theo has just wandered the house looking for his brother. He's not really sleeping and not eating much at all. We've had cats die before and never seen this reaction from the others. It's so sad.
Poor kitty, I hope he starts to eat better soon. Maybe more human playtime will help, he must miss his brother so much

That's a nice idea, but we have 3 already and introducing a new one now would just make things worse I think.

I am just trying to give him lots of attention. I think he is probably just confused more than anything - the smells in the house must be completely different and I suppose the whole pecking order has been changed among the cats.

Or maybe he's just depressed because he heard DH and I talking about moving back and taking him with us!

Sally is there any herbal/homeopathic medicine you can give to the little soul to help him stay calm?

Did you see that the US dollar took a nose dive today?

Cheers

Oh, the poor little thing!

Here's an article about grieving cats - it seems that the Bach Flower Remedy, the "Star of Bethlehem" may be helpful:

http://cats.about.com/od/behaviortra...-over-loss.htm

I don't know if you know about the Bach Flower Remedies - but they are from England! Here's a little bit of info from their official website:

http://www.bachfloweressences.co.uk/...y-of-Bach.html

You can buy Bach Flower Remedies in the US from Wholefoods, some health food stores and specialist pharmacies (in NYC) and from Amazon.com

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I'll definitely look into the Bach's Remedy and meantime, I'll just give lots of hugs and attention.

That's what I was thinking of and couldn't remember the name - Bach Flower Remedy

Hi Barb...

Thanks for your help, Just to set the record straight, I already knew which threads I subscribed too, that wasn't the problem, the problem was a post I made vanished to who knows where, Ive stopped looking for it, I was annoyed that my post that insulted nobody got moved or totally removed, I'm not mad at the moderators, never were, they have their reasons and thats Fine, I actually sympathize with them trying to keep everyone happy, I haven't found the post and I dont care anymore, but it was frustrating at the time.

The bickering that goes on is just negative and pointess, I for one hope it stops, there's no wonder we have little peace on this Earth.

Oh Fish, I did this for Rodney, I know you have been around the site too.

If you click on your own name you can pull up a list of your previous posts and will therefore be able to locate the missing one.

What! you aren't reading my posts?? (#1376)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2...ail-sales-rise

But the Euro was up slightly as well.

Unless those nutcases in Congress come up with a sensible means to tackle the deficit it looks to be a one way bet for the dollar.
