Hi All (Hello everyone)

I hope all are well?

My wife went to her dentist in Las Vegas and he referred her to a specialist. The consultation from the two of them cost $270 for the troubling tooth.
Now to get the tooth fixed will cost $1800 with the money up front.
Hope you have a nice day.

Now back to looking at property in the Lake district on Rightmove.

Cheers

Cheers its all part of the healthcare rip off in this country, the folks here are just oblivious to what people pay in other parts of the world, Ignorance is bliss.

My wife had a crown this year at a cost of $995 plus the $70 inspection fee before the procedure... My in laws in the UK are paying 330 sterling and complaining.

The Lake District is a place Id move to if I had the money.

After we started our business, we couldn't afford to add dental and vision to our health insurance. Can't even fathom how much we ended up spending on braces for DD and root canals and crowns for me.

I am really interested in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands right now!

I will be 80 in a few weeks so I had better get a move on:lol:

I'm sure, like me, you are getting all the new price increases for 2018, Medical insurance up, Presciption insurance up, Car insurance up, Home insurance up. Yep, they hear about the $14 a month ? increase we receive in the US Social Security....One step forward and three stepsback.
Medical insurance for two is $435.96 a month in 2017. then it goes up to $461.83 a month in 2018.
A friend in England tells me that they hear a lot of American accents in the functions they go to in England. I wonder why??
Cheers

I hear Scottish accents in Devon, a lot of Scots come down this way to live.

Perhaps there’s a foreign language exchange scheme going on . . .

Disturbing too is the large number of extra-terrestrials I see walking about masquerading as humans.

Does anyone have contact with Rodney?

I think I know how to contact him! I will go to one of his postings and that will allow me to contact him privately. We will see.

Cheers.

I often think about him and would love to know how he’s getting along. I think I can speak for all the regulars of this forum in sending him our very best wishes.

I also think of Dunnroving...I wish he would let us know how he is. :fingerscrossed: I find it sad when long standing members just disappear. :(

Yes - I miss Dunroving's posts - they were very interesting and informative. I miss all the "old" posters - Rodney, Dunroving, Trotty True (who started the original thread), also Eastern Dawn (Peggi). She was the Canadian lady (born in Scotland) who moved back to Scotland. She had a lot of bad luck at the start trying to find work, accommodation etc. I often wonder if her husband was able to join her in Scotland or if she went back to Canada. Also I would love to hear how Celtic Spirit is doing back in Northern Ireland. I hope they are all okay! Also Anna in Malta (?), As for Fulwood, I believe she is still in the US (unless she moved back recently). She sometimes posts on another thread about new British/European television shows she likes to watch. Hope she is okay too. Would love to hear from all of them!

I miss hearing from Aries. I lived in Adelaide for many years & still visit from Perth, WA every year as our daughter is still there. I am about the same age & often dream of returning to England. I admired her courage as she went back aged 72yrs after 50yrs plus in Australia. Unfortunately she found it hard going. I hope she has settled & made friends.

I’m still around and posting now and again. Yesterday I reached 6 years back in England, and although every day I say I would like to return to Adelaide and look on the internet for places to live, my health issues get in the way. My next birthday will have an 8 at the front, so time is ticking away to make another big move.

At outpatients in hospital this week the specialist said he knows Adelaide well, even knowing how the Crows finished this year, so with his enthusiasm I’m surprised he isn’t living there.

With other BE members who don’t seem to post these days, life’s ups and downs are probably playing a part, very little stays constant.
