There was no cost as it is covered by Medicare and my AARP supplemental insurance.

A piece of friendly advise..I would follow up with your primary care doctor in a couple of days if you are still not comfortable. Sometimes it needs swelling and bruising to go down before other problems show. Hope in your case it all heals with no problems

Ouch! I echo what's been suggested about following up with your GP. If you think this may happen again, I would just put the mattress on the floor.

You folks with your high beds . My daughter has one that I kid her she needs a ladder to get into. I have a continental bed with just a frame and mattress so not too high off the floor. Perhaps you should consider it .

Sorry you hurt yourself though.

That scrap metal is all that remains of a lovely little seaside cafeteria that was burned down by vandals on April 19th. I hope it gets put into a metal sculpture as a memorial to the working lives of three people who are out of business as they were unable to get insurance coverage because of the remote location. And I hope they catch the little swine who did this wanton act of destruction. They are a disgrace to what is usually a nice little town.

That is one of the downsides of the UK. The wanton destruction and vandalism of some youth today with no recourse to any punishment. There is definitely a lack of respect which in my day would never have occurred for fear of a reprisal from either our parents, teachers or the police!

This is very true. When I was young, everyone (or almost everyone) had respect for others, including authority. The worst thing I ever did as a child was knock on doors and run away. I lived in a little terraced house and I remember my siblings and I used to do this on the way home from Sunday School no less! Then we would run down the back alley and hide and collapse with laughter. It all ended for me when I was "caught" by a policeman who happened to come across us - he knew my dad, and that was the last time I ever misbehaved. He put an end to our shenanigans! Looking back, it was really just a prank, nothing like the wanton destruction and vandalism of today.

Ha ha, we did that as well, called it "tok tokkie" in Cape Town (must have some African meaning) and also ended when a neighbour opened the door and his great big boxer dog bounced out after us! He was quite a docile dog but seeing him run out got us on the run and we never did it again! The daughter in the house ended up my best friend for a few years!

cheers Im so sorry to hear about your fall, it must be very painful, you say your doc only suggested you to take ibufurim for pain, did he not order an ex-ray? I mean you didn't need a doc to tell you to take an over the counter pain killer, you already knew you had pain anyway I do hope you feel better soon,
Yes I have my pacemaker in now and seems to be working good, but it sure is very sore, they had to put the pacemaker in and then take out the heart monitor (reveal) so two incisions, the op from start to finish took three and half hours, they said I have to take it real easy for 6 weeks, no lifting, bending, stretching, walk slowly,
All I have to deal with now is my conjunctivitis that I caught a week ago, and my Psoriasis that flared up again a few days ago on my hands, (first flare up in 3 years) ------ THEN ----- I will be as right as rain I think

Cheers, so sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you are feeling much better these days and considering getting a bed that is lower to the ground.
