Hi everyone,

I have started a second career as an artist - something I have always done as a hobby, but never really dedicated myself to. Got a new lease of life since coming back here, so got stuck in and have my first exhibition starting next week (yikes!) and then an arts fair in York in December. Exciting times!

Other than that, I've lost 20lbs since coming home, partly because I'm happier and partly because I walk a lot now. This despite regular pub meals, chippy teas, custard tarts and Yorkshire puddings.

I don't care what anyone says, for me there is no place like home :)

So nice to hear your update and that you have taken your art to the next level. Good luck with the exhibition. Well done with your 20lbs! I have embarked on a health drive myself in anticipation of returning. I now believe that the food we eat in America is what is making us fat, or is one of the problems!

Very frosty here and slippery underfoot. Ben Lomond had a dusting of snow but that was all.

A bit frosty this morning, but it turned into a beautiful cold sunny day. I heard a rumour that we are to expect 90 days of snow. I am taking that with a pinch of snow salt.

Beautiful day here, blue skies but cold. Having said that I was outside with a tshirt on. As with every winter it seems they are predicting arctic weather and blizzards :)

Not at all, with insurance from their Bay area CA warehouse (we delivered it all ready packed in boxes inside a horse trailer ) to our garage in Wales was just over $2,000 including the insurance (value of about £15,000) . That was one wooden liftvan packed solid, 7.5feet long, 7.5 feet tall and 4.5 feet wide (approx) and a small pallet with two wood crates on measuring about 3'x3' and 5'x1.5'

Thanks so much for the info! Glad it all arrived safe and sound :)

Hail stones here, sounded more like baseballs on the roof overnight. We can see Snowden has snow on it and all the mountains around it quite low down.

Thanks Rod.

I didn't lose weight by choice, it was more out of fear, My Dr told me to cut back on sugar, starch, salt and red meat, he also told me to lose ten pounds, I took him very seriously.

I've cut down on Bread, Potatoes, Chocolate, Ice Cream, Cake, cups of Tea and more, most items I've cut by a third, some drastically, I still eat everything, just in smaller portions.

I actually enjoy my food more and Im not stuffed.

The Doc said lose 10 lbs, I've lost 20, I intend to lose at least another 10 lbs and keep it off, That's the plan.

Its not really been difficult, The results I've got have been encouraging.

Maybe not difficult for some and not for others. I need you for my personal trainer:D

I'm at 181 lbs. How about you?

Not a chance. We did sort two boxes of baby stuff to go in the loft and Dh opened up his tools and started to sort those, other than that I found the snow boots and warm hats and gloves. The rest I can't even start on, too much stuff in the house with everyone living together. We have to wait on buying a small house for my Mum to live in so we can take over this one.

She's doing well, managed to dig out some books and dolls from the shipping.

Well done, thats really good results. Not sure I could cut the tea, maybe I'd cut the sugar amount in it first.
