Funnily enough I hated coss country running when we were forced to do it, however when I got older and reached the 6th form, then we had loads of free time, and we were allowed to do what we wanted when we were approaching our A levels and revising. I took up cross country running with a few friends, and we would run almost every day, eventually this became known to the athletics teachers, and we all finished up being entered for the county cross cuntry championship, didn't come anywhere, but at least I reached the standard.

Where did you get that number from? As dunroving says it doesn't sound like an average wage to me - unless of course someone is taking all the ridiculous banker wages and adding those in to the regular persons wages and making an 'average' that way :sneaky:

Average wages and household income are invariably reported from the median, not the mean, for that very reason (it's a statistical phenomenon known as skewness). I can't imagine any source would report mean salary as "average".

That's great, I do think running focus's your mind and relieves stress, which is great for students. My daughter is on the cross-country team at school, I don't know how she does it as I absolutely loathed it at school.

I think it's too late in life now..but I would love to have taken up any form of running. I did it a lot in High School during PE, but that was about it. Now I wish I had kept it up. But if I started now I'd end up giving myself two black eyes and I'm sure you can imagine why..:rofl::eek:

How can they pay those kind of wages?

I got it from the Daily Express yesterday. They were writing about an area in Kent that was the best place to live and their income was above the national average. I don't know how to paste on my iPad . Sorry.

Yes, tablets don't quite work like laptops, do they? I get frustrated at the lack of functionality in my Asus, too.

Any more clues what the article was about? I searched on their Web page for Kent, salary, income, etc., etc. and couldn't find it. What was the name of the area?

So Yep me too Sally I am much happier in the cold and snow then unbearable desert heat, its a lot easier to get warm when its cold, then it is to get cool when its hot,
I went with my Mum to her hairdressers today, she has her hair done with her 87 year old friend Molly every 6 weeks, I sit with them for a little while when they are waiting for there hairdresser, anyway Mums hairdresser today turns around to me and says ----- well how do you like this terrible weather were having over here? i said what!!! its lovely, and when I explained that I love the rain and the snow and the cold and that this weather is my favorite kind, and that I am most happy when its like this, and I said Ive had enough sun and heat in my life to last me a life time, well you can imagine she was quite puzzled at my response :) probably thought I was crazy ;)

I'm with you Rodney on the weather. As I watched the news on telly and all the folks moaning about how cold it is and how they were jetting off to some (temporary) higher temps for Easter, I 'm looking forward that Britain will be a little bit emptier and all the more space for me to have some nice walks well wrapped against the weather and with a pub at the end and a bus home.

I agree Windsong and if would be hard to imagine unless one has had the experience.
