I bet that was Liberaces piano, he played Caesars alot, In fact I saw him there in 85, soon after he died, he was certainly a world class entertainer.

FYI - as this is in the news almost constantly, I looked up this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...United_Kingdom
I had no idea he was the owner of all that he is - look at the Australian list! Unreal.
So now I know which papers NOT to buy.

I suppose not many people remember him butr he was a real showman.
Denise 2 oh yes indeed Liberace was a real showman, I loved his TV specials that we saw in England years ago, he performed before the queen at the london palladium many times,
I met him only once, it was a privilege ---- it was in Reno, I lived there for a long time, he was performing there in the 70,s sometime and I saw him at the Harolds club, he was sitting down at a nickle machine playing it for fun, he had two bodyguards with him, I just walked up to him and told him how much I admired him and he shook my hand and said something like oh thats nice thank you, I was so surprised at seeing him I didn't even think of asking for his autograph,

I'm still wondering why people continue to buy the sun, isnt it really the daily version of the news of the world, Maybe he will start publishing a Sunday Sun with the same garbage...
I first remember Murdock when the Murial Mckay story hit the TV screens in the 60s, it was a kidnapping case of mistaken identity, does anyone else remember that story?.

I knew he owned alot but this list is really something, Ive never cared for him knowing that he had so much power and control in the UK and USA, he was never elected in either country, He hides behind many covers not only our beloved fox news lol, the Dow Jones and Wall Street journal amazed me, thats alot of influence in the way American money thinks.

What do you think of how this Murdoch story is moving along so fast, everyday, something different, yesterday the main boss of the Police force --- the Commissioner of police resigned and today the (assistant) commissioner of the police resigned too, Rebecca Brooks was arrested and questioned for 9 hours until midnight a couple of days ago, tomorrow is the big day for Murdoch and his Son AND Rebecca and others to face the MP,S in parliament, a whole day of questioning there, the day after that PARLIMENT IS CLOSING for the summer holidays, there all going on vacation for goodness knows how long, Hmmmm Many arrests in the last week, so many heads are going to ROLL, Some people are saying that even Cameron is not safe ---- mainly because of his close relationship with Rebecca Brooks and the Murdochs in general, Hmmmmm I wonder who will be arrested tomorrow,
Fish is this also such a big story over there in U.S.? is fox news thrashing it to death ---- on second thoughts I guess they wouldn't would they as Murdoch owns Fox too doesn't he,
Here I think this is the biggest story since Christine Keeler and her friend Mandy rice Davis almost brought down the British Government in the 1960,s

One of the last true showmen and so polite from what I was told. Thanks everyone for wishing me well, and great to hear from you all again, sorry I should have put that post in the other forum, its just a bit confusing after it always being just one. Hope you are all keeping well, we are having a horrible day today wind, rain uuggghhh, but it is getting better again next week. I am watching the Golf at the moment being played at Royal St. George a male only club and I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for Darren Clarke, not only from N. Ireland, but after losing his young wife a few years ago he lost his game, so I am so happy to see him in the finals, also if he won this one that would be 3 major winners from N. Ireland, putting us on the map again for the right reasons, if I won £250,000 on the lottery, enough to buy us a nice comfortable house, I would be so contented I would be afraid to win all those millions, but I would buy a scanner for every hospital that needed one in the uk, I think they are a million each, so with 161 million it would buy quite a few.

Thanks Rodney, and you too Bee. We were married on June 1st. Re pudding, yes I guess suet pudding would be the same thing. I think we're going to try it with marmalade next time. Not sure if it will be orange or lime.

Not as much as it would normally get because the country is on the brink of a financial collapse thanks to some in congress refusing to raise the debt limit. Looks like we might all be in debtor's prison this time next year!

Hi Fish I dont remember that Murial McKay story, ------ but when Murdoch closed the News of the World he did say that he plans to make the Sun into a 7 day week paper, and a lot of experts said that it would replace the N.O.T.W. for the Sunday version,
What do you think of how this Murdoch story is moving along so fast, everyday, something different, yesterday the main boss of the Police force --- the Commissioner of police resigned and today the (assistant) commissioner of the police resigned too, Rebecca Brooks was arrested and questioned for 9 hours until midnight a couple of days ago, tomorrow is the big day for Murdoch and his Son AND Rebecca and others to face the MP,S in parliament, a whole day of questioning there, the day after that PARLIMENT IS CLOSING for the summer holidays, there all going on vacation for goodness knows how long, Hmmmm Many arrests in the last week, so many heads are going to ROLL, Some people are saying that even Cameron is not safe ---- mainly because of his close relationship with Rebecca Brooks and the Murdochs in general, Hmmmmm I wonder who will be arrested tomorrow,

I really hate that he came here and created a so called news channel that seems more like a brainwashing for its followers, America wasnt like this when I came here, today its very polarised and full of political hate, we are the losers.

Just thought I would update you on the Murdoch story - this just in from a site reporting on it:

Today promises to be an interesting one as it is the day they go before the MPs.
