I'm writing to the Bloomington office tomorrow to ask them to confirm their policy on walk-in EAD issuance, with regard to interims in particular. I'll also ask them their policy on renewals and replacements, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm just concerned as I have no NOA for my I-765, and I imagine it's therefore somewhat to their discretion.

But I'll let you know what I find out.

Thanks I appreciate that.

I also went to the Bloomingotn office (wife is K3) and had EAD/AOS application to file in person. After standing in line outside (we were numbers 30 and 31), all they did was collect the paperwork and our payment (see timeline below). The BCIS agent told me they were going to be forwarded to Chicago for further processing. Haven't heard anything since then Now I am thinking that I should have mailed the EAD to NBC myslef. Atleast that way, I get an NOA to show for my efforts. Right now, there is no document to show that we have AOS/EAD pending . . . until they cash the check (which they haven't done yet!).

Hi,
Here is my case with BCIS so far...

I have submitted all the forms ( I-130, I-485, I-765.. ) on Oct 23rd
at the Bloomington District office. Later on NOV 21st i have got
notification letters from MSC/NBC for all the forms that i have
submitted earlier, asking me to take the fingerprints, signature and
other BIO-stats. I have completed them the immediate next day at the
St. Paul Application support center.

Today i called the 1-800 number to know the status of my case
(ofcourse i can check it online now), first of all i am confused about
the processing dates shown for the St Paul district office ( Shows Nov
19th 2003 for I-765) and at the NBC (Shows Aug 12th 2003 for I-765).
What I understand from the INS operators is , even if I have applied
at Bloomington, for my type (family based) of case I will have to look
at NBC dates. So its going to be a long wait.

And now I do not wanted to wait that long to get an EAD, so I have
asked the operator if I can get interim EAD and how long I have to
wait for that. She says I can go to Bloomington office after the 90th
day from the actual forms submission date. So in my case technically
its Jan 23rd. And now I am not really sure that Bloomington is going
to give me an interim EAD , if not i will have to wait till I got the
original EAD from the NBC.

Just wanted to share ...
Good Luck You ALL,
Madhu

Hi;

Don't worry so much about the processing date for the I765 on the NBC page - on December 9th it said April 28th, and on November 18th it said September 12th (2003). This forum had received informed speculation that the I765 processing dates had been dragged back by some straggling AOS filings that had a deadline for June - so although there's 3 months(ish) between August 12th and your NOA date, there most probably isn't 3 month's worth of applications for the USCIS to plough through until they get to yours. You may yet be spared from queuing at Bloomington again!

Good luck.

Don't bother queuing up at Bloomington to file your AOS - you'll have to be at 4am, and all they will do is forward it to Chicago, who then forward it to the NBC. Also, they don't issue EADs on the spot any more.

ONLY 4AM???????!!!!!!! My word! In Miami, I waited for an obscene 8 hours to get in the building to file our papers!!! I got there at 11pm the night before, and by 4am, there were already a few hundred people behind me! Granted, they did do everything there and then, so I suppose it compensates in some way!

Oh come on...suck it up Mark. You know you love freezing your nads off in 10 degree weather. (Just to be rudely insulted once you get inside!!)

How are things?

I can imagine! I've camped outside the Miami office a few times now, and one time it was during a "cold" spell. I was ok til I woke up and realized that my entire body was numb from the cold. The other times weren't too bad, though, so I do sympathize.

Anyway, Katherine, sorry for hogging the thread!

It's what I live for! And if I freeze my nads off, they'll probably get confiscated by security on the way in.

Things are good. Just cleaned the windows and nearly had my nose guillotined by the storm shutter. Then the cat jumped out of the window so I was running around the garden after it. Then the phone went, it was a solicitor offering me something I 'couldn't refuse', which was odd as I found it very easy to refuse.

Things are going so smoothly today...!

Hi All,
Just an addition to my previous post(posted on 12/23/2003).

My I-765(EAD) is approved, i have got card today by mail.

Date of submition : Oct 23rd 2003
Date of Notification : Nov 21st 2003
Date of Approval : Jan 22nd 2004 ( exactly on the 90th day )

So i beleive the dates shown on http://ucis.gov/ is not correct.

I may get my I-130 and I-485 approved earlier than the dates shown on
the official site. Just being postive -

Regards,
Madhu
