The Texas summers are pretty brutal but the winters are great. Since we've been retired we have managed to get out of Texas during the summer. Last year we spent 5 months driving in the Pacific NW, across Montana and Wyoming and back down through Colorado. This year it is 5 months in the UK and Ireland, next year we plan to go to New Zealand and Australia.

Gosh, a year already! So glad you seem to be finding your niche in a fabulous part of the country! I envy you Orkney!! I have Shetland (all that wool!) on my bucket list!!!!

I didn't get off the island without a small stash of wool. A girl can never have too much wool

There were some lovely hand knitted goods on Orkney, but I couldn't justify buying any of them as I kept telling myself "I could knit that"
