I don't think I know the crisp one you are referring to, but you reminded me of another of my favourites, which was for Wotsits (I think).

It was very original and quite funny and went something like this (with appropriate video shown obviously).

"There were this man wot were stuck in a big prison by evil knights.

Well 'ee 'ad 'alf a mind to climb over't walls
an' 'ee 'ad 'alf a mind to dig a tunnel and escape under't walls.

Then he thought, "ang on, two 'alves make an 'ole!"
So 'ee climbed through't 'ole, and walked away.

Well outside't prison, 'ee ad no idea where 'ee was.
Ee started shoutin' fer 'elp.
Ee shouted an' shouted until eventually,
'ee got alittle hoarse.

'Ee jumped on't 'orse, and galloped away.
After a while 'ee came to a big wall, an try as it may, t'orse just couldn't jump over it.

While 'ee climbed over't wall, and kept on walkin'

He walked and walked and then 'ee saw this little bee goin' "Buzz, Buzz"

So 'ee caught bus, and went 'ome!

Anyone remember that one, or what it was for?

What are your top 10 all time favourite UK TV ads?

Mine would be something like this:
1. McDonalds "There's a difference at McDonalds you'll enjoy!"

2. Midland Bank "Come and talk, talk to the midland. Come and talk, to the listening bank"
http://www.youtube.com/v/clN9YK-hC-M&hl=en&fs=1

3. WH Smith Do It All "If only we knew it, how Do It All do it, you can bet, we'd be doin' it as well!"
http://www.youtube.com/v/i5P7KyMLZAY&hl=en&fs=1

4. Milk "Milk has gotta lotta bottle, Nice cold, Ice cold Milk"
http://www.youtube.com/v/IETIef2oah0&hl=en&fs=1

5. Asda "And with Asda price as good as ever, you've got it altogether better!"
http://www.youtube.com/v/2P6mnl6i13c&hl=en&fs=1

6. Fresh cream cakes "Naughty, but nice!"
http://www.youtube.com/v/df_fX8nAekw&hl=en&fs=1

7. The AA "You're a nice man. A very nice man. A Very very nice man. A very very very nice man..."
http://www.youtube.com/v/yBKcr1lM3rQ&hl=en&fs=1

8. Butlins "Play happy families this summer"
http://www.youtube.com/v/Dj_mTk63e80&hl=en&fs=1

9. Birdeye steakhouse grills "Hope it's chips, it's chips. We 'ope it's chips, it's chips!"
http://www.youtube.com/v/hoZwwrCcDmQ&hl=en&fs=1

10. TSB "Come and see TSB. TSB, the bank that likes to say 'YES!'"
http://www.youtube.com/v/X7oQYKUL7ys&hl=en&fs=1
(until the mid 1990s, when strangely, they suddenly became the bank that wants YOU to say Yes!!!) No wonder they got taken over by Lloyds!!!

I just remembered all those 'Hamlet' adverts with the guy with the dodgy comb over. the one where he is trying to get a light, then strikes the match on his bald head has to be in my top 10. Can anyone find the You tube on that?

Other top tenners:

Morrisons Supermarket -'More reasons to shop at Morrisons' - i know its not funny but it is such a clever marketing ploy that I count how many times they say Morrisons in the ad.

Um Bongo fruit Drink - it tasted like crap but I spent ages learning the words. Just imagine those advertising execs sitting around making rhymes for Um Bongo!!!:

Um Bongo Um Bongo

Way down deep in the middle of the jungle,
a monkey took an apricot, a guava and a mango,
He stuck it with the others and he danced a fruity tango,
The rhino said I know we'll call it Um Bongo

Um Bongo Um Bongo they drink it in the Congo!

I was a very strange child.

can't stand pepsi myself - I always preferred coke ........ I really wanted to get on that advert where they compared coke to pepsi just so I could bollox it and say that i preferred coke !!!

and today I'd really like all the stain removal people to come to my house and test out their products on my kids clothes before they can say that it removes 99 % of all known stains !!!!!!!!!!! (p.s. anyone know how to get fresh cherry juice out of clothes?)
