yes I can contribute as still working. plus have funds with USAA that want to slowly start to convert into a Roth. thank you everyone.

You can only do a regular annual ROTH contribution if you have earned income liable to US taxation so you'd have to be working in the US or a US citizen. If you are a US citizen the tax on the IRA to ROTH rollover will be calculated using your income before any FEIE is subtracted. If you are an NRA you have the opportunity to do tax free, or very low tax, IRA to ROTH rollovers.

Nun, you are great... I am US citizen, will work until I leave for UK.

Then if you want to continue contributing to the ROTH it's probably better to use foreign tax credits than the FEIE when you do your US taxes.
