Anybody know how long a new UK passport takes? Am thinking about using my local post office to do a digital application where they take my photo, upload & send it off via the internet.

Assuming that you are in the UK, I used Timpson key cutting stores where they take a digital photo including an online code.
I received 4 original passport sized photos; a memory stick with the digital images and the online code.
I then applied for my passport renewal online giving the online code for the photo.
The passport office uses the code to download the photo.
You then need to send your old passport to the designated passport office.
My renewal passport came back within one week but I heard of a first passport application taking several weeks.
The new passport arrived on signed-for mail and the old passport arrives via ordinary post.

Can you ask at the post office how long the digital application will take or phone the passport office and ask them? Good luck

These are the times on the Govt website.
I doubt that the Post Office will differ from these.
The times were similar when I renewed but mine (and other friends) came back within a week.

Local post office said 8 to 12 weeks for their digital renewal passport service.
Think I will just go to London passport office premium service.

They’re managing expectations. Unless you are travelling over the festive period then it’s not worth the time or money going into London.

Take care booking an appointment with the London premium service. There are scam websites that give the appearance of being the official govt. site and charge a fee for the appointment. Make sure you are booking on the correct site, check the fee and don't pay anything additional.
