Need some advice...moving back
Hi All, iv ejust bought a place near weybridge, in surrey..its small but suits my needs, and its freehold.. ive been out of the UK for about 20 odd years, after going to OZ at 16.
I dont know what to do, this is my first house, survey and solicitors set up...but im in Singapore...so to speed things up will use my points and fly back after the survey...ive contacted Ozforex to get my funds across, but ill have no where to stay in the UK, no bank account, just the bag on my back...was thinking about a hostel...if anyone has been in the same situation as me..any advice would be great..its exciting...i wanted to buy in the UK as the dollar, is good, thats one reason, the other, i still like it the last few years been working for a few spells in Norway and the UK, and my trips to London, id forgotten how English i am , and i actually feel comfortable, albeit its tough, but their was something missing in OZ..just something, i cant put my finger on, but the UK just feels like a home...and with the dollar and the cost of Aussie homes well out of reach, its not in the UK, the opposite from the recent past, where aussie was good value for a move and the UK wasnt...so im going for it...but have no family to rely on and a bit unsure where to stay, and how to go about a few things...anyway cheers all;) |
Re: Need some advice...moving back
You'll have to stay in an hotel until your sale goes through.
Plenty of small hotels/Travel Lodge type of places around the Weybridge area. Also B&B's. |
Re: Need some advice...moving back
You might try and ask the estate agents you purchased from. They normally have an idea of what's good locally.
As a thought you might like to describe how you went about the purchase as this is a common question on the forum. |
Re: Need some advice...moving back
Depending upon your closing date, perhaps a furnished holiday let might suit you. Start to set up your utility suppliers. When opening a bank account you can use a utility bill as proof of residence.
Good luck with your move. |
